Structured sessions designed around progression, confidence, and fun
Small-group coaching on some of Scotland’s best trails
Weekly Kids club for Mountain biking
What to expect on a session
Every session is different – different venue, different terrain, different challenges. That’s the point. Mountain biking in Scotland means learning to read what’s in front of you, adapting to the conditions, and getting comfortable with a bit of unpredictability. We build that from the very first session.
What stays the same is the approach: small groups, a coach who knows your child’s name, and a session that pushes them just enough without tipping into overwhelm.
Junior Riders : Corrie Cubs – Morning Sessions
Ages 5–10 · Beginner to developing · Morning
Junior sessions are for younger riders taking their first proper steps on the trails. We start with the fundamentals — balance, braking, looking ahead, reading the ground — and build from there across the block.
Sessions run for 3 hours and are kept deliberately relaxed. The goal is confidence, not speed. A child who finishes their first session grinning and asking when the next one is – that’s what we’re after.
Before joining a junior session, your child should be able to ride a bike independently on flat ground pedalling, steering, and stopping without help. use gears on moderate gradients, and perform a controlled emergency stop. Gears are essential – single-speed bikes are not suitable for Junior sessions. We are not a learn-to-ride – programme. If your child is still on a balance bike or stabilisers, get in touch first and we’ll point you in the right direction.
All junior riders must use flat pedals. Clipless pedals are not permitted at this age in line with Scottish Cycling guidance.
A typical junior session

- Cool-down and chat – what did we learn today?

Not sure which group is right for your child? Get in touch, we’ll help you figure it out.
YOUTH RIDERS : Munro Mob – AFTERNOON SESSION
Ages 9–14 · Developing to progressing · Afternoon
Youth sessions are for riders who are ready to push further. Sessions cover more technical terrain, greater distances, and the kind of coaching that turns a competent rider into a confident one. Riders at this level are expected to show up prepared and self-sufficient – carrying their own kit, managing their own bike, and keeping up with the group across a two-hour session.
That expectation isn’t just practical – it’s part of what makes these sessions worth doing. Learning to be self-reliant on the trail, to problem-solve, to read terrain and manage risk, is as valuable as any specific technique we teach.
Before joining a youth session, your child should be able to ride singletrack confidently and independently, use gears on moderate gradients, and perform a controlled emergency stop. Gears are essential – single-speed bikes are not suitable for youth sessions.
A typical youth session
- Bike and helmet check on arrival
- Trail warm-up ride
- Coach-led technique work on specific features or skills
- Progressive trail riding with increasing challenge
- Snack break – riders carry their own
- Group debrief and session wrap

What about nervous first-timers?
First sessions can feel daunting – for kids and parents alike. A new place, new people, and a sport that involves a bit of risk is a lot to take in. That’s completely normal, and something we see at the start of almost every block.
We’ve worked with hundreds of children over the years and we know that the best thing for a nervous rider is a warm welcome, a low-pressure start, and a coach who takes the time to meet them where they are. We don’t push children beyond what they’re ready for, and we never make a child feel embarrassed for finding something hard.
What helps most: let your child know it’s okay to watch before they ride, that the coach knows it’s their first time, and that nobody will judge them. Most nervous first-timers are grinning by the end of the session.
If your child has additional support needs, sensory sensitivities, or anything else that would help us prepare, please tell us before the session. We’ll do everything we can to make sure they feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.
